Who should attend?

This course aims to help participants: 1. Have a better understanding of how to recognise outstanding teaching 2. Focus on how teachers can move that ultimate step forward 3. Consider ways that schools can help their staff move their teaching to the next level.

Outstanding teaching results in pupil progress that exceeds expectations. Trying to move that ultimate step forward is a challenge for both you and your staff as most schools only have a tiny proportion of really outstanding teachers. This course is about helping teachers and schools to get there. It uses case studies and DVD/video materials to help you develop your understanding of the features of outstanding teaching, and it focuses on how teachers work towards improving their practice to achieve the next level and what the school can do to help them improve their practice.
